The Cistercian monastery of Santes Creus was founded on December 4th of 1150, and in conjunction with the Poblet and Vallbona monasteries are a exponent of l'expansion of the Cistercian Order in the New Catalonian. It is the faithfulest to the cistercian models of construction.
